FAQ

RUNNING WATER classes are designed for all abilities.

Whether you are on day one of your wellness journey, or an elite athlete, our workouts focus on your own abilities and capacity in the moment. We rest when we need to rest and we work when our bodies are ready to work. Our coaches guide you, and move with you, every step of the way.

This is a supportive and inclusive environment. Come as you are, we can’t wait to meet you!

First time:

Being rushed and unprepared is no fun. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to make sure our coaches can show you around, show you your set-up, and help you prep for an amazing session. Your coach will share with you specific cues and language we will use throughout the class so nothing comes as a surprise.

What should I bring to class?

  • Prepare to sweat. We recommend wearing clothes that won’t get in your way and make you feel the most comfortable in movement.

  • Comfortable running shoes are a must! Please make sure your running shoes are clean if you also use them outdoors to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our equipment. If you’re in the market for a new pair, our coaches are happy to share some of their favorites.

  • Water bottle! We do have boxed water for sale, but we encourage you to reduce waste and bring your own hydration to class.

I need modifications, can you accommodate?

You know your body best (and your doctors can help you decide what is safe for you to do). If you are cleared to exercise, you will hear throughout class our coaches offering various modifications to support where you are in your fitness. Always listen to your body and modify as necessary. Our coaches' cues are merely suggestions.

The Treadmills

Woodway treadmills are simply put “the best”. The Woodway uses slat belts composed of segmented shock-absorbing slats instead of conventional flat treadmill belts, which makes this one of the comfiest rides you’ll find either indoors or outdoors for running. The belt technology reduces shock to the joints. Nothing but the best because we take caring for our bodies seriously!

The Ergs

Concept 2 Row Ergs are the best in class indoor rowing machines. While other rowers have come and gone, and other technology has become trendy, the Concept 2 rower has been on the market since 1981. Thats over 40 years of development and technology. From being the go-to rower for collegiate race teams, to the title sponsor and exclusive rower of the Indoor World Championships, nothing compares to the excellence and level of the Concept 2 pedigree. When you arrive to a class that utilizes these rowers, each rower has been configured to set the drag factor at 120. Simply put, each rower has been calibrated to mirror the resistance you would find rowing out on the water. We do this to prevent injury through too high of resistance on the machines for the workout and our bodies.

The Flow

We always ease into our work to wake up the body and prevent injury. Then we focus on a blend of longer endurance building and shorter strength efforts. We ease out of work just like we started with a cool down. We always end class with a stretching series and a moment of gratitude.
